137...76... UNKNOWN MAKER: "Oxford" in large block letters on a circa 1905 smooth face, rounded back Lofter. G-6 $85

137...77... UNKNOWN MAKER: A circa 1920's hyphen scored "Niblick" with "Pin Hi" and "Finish Brand" at the toe. This club has an unusual "Flag-in-Hole" maker's mark in that the "rectangular" flag is the "P" in "Pin Hi". Made for or assembled by "Eric Allemby". A nice all original club. G-7+ $90.00

137...78... UNKNOWN MAKER: An early Blacksmith made iron c-1850-65 with forging striations visible on back and face as well as hammering marks on the slightly hooked face. The long hosel nicking has been trimmed. On early blacksmith made clubs the heavy nicking was hammered down to secure the shaft before the use of a hosel pin. The tradition was carried on throughout the feather ball era even after adding a pin was common practice. As a result, when a broken shaft was removed from the hosel, the repairman had to trim away the nicking in order to remove the shaft. Nice period shaft and grip. G-6 $975

137...79... VICKERS, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND: Circa 1915-20 hyphen face "Mashie No. 23" with the "Double K" maker's mark at the toe. This iron has a very wide sole and a flanged back. Shaft is a replacement. G-5+ $65.00

137...80... WHITE, J C, TROON: An oval shaped, line scored face "Mashie-Niblick" with "J C White, Troon" boldly on the back. Clubs with names of British Open courses are very popular. White was at Troon from 1911-1917. G-7 $85
